The Wrangler 4xe is the Industry's First Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) with a Front and Rear Locking Differential. Its system is paired with a 2.0L I4 DOHC direct-injection Turbo PHEV engine. A 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster and eight-speed automatic transmission work together to send impressive amounts of power and torque to each wheel, maximizing the capability of every component. The sealed and waterproof battery pack and electronics even perform in tough conditions like fording creeks and streams up to 31.5 inches in depth.

OPTIMIZE EVERY RIDE
HYBRID MODE
The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.
ELECTRIC MODE
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

What is the Wrangler 4xe's Hybrid Powertrain?
If you're looking for a way to maximize your fuel-efficiency, then the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the one for you! This is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, or PHEV. Under the hood, you'll find both a classic gas-powered engine, and a set of electric motors that run on battery power. For the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the powertrain includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and two electric motors connected to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. The battery supplies the Wrangler 4xe with up to 21 miles of all-electric range, while the total driving range is rated at up to 35 miles! Of course, this also means you can greatly reduce your gas consumption, but the Wrangler 4xe also uses regenerative braking to further conserve energy.
What are the Wrangler 4xe's Athletic Features?
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe may have a different powertrain than you're used to seeing, but it still has a lot in common with the classic Wrangler models you know and love. The Wrangler is an off-road vehicle at heart, and it comes with all sorts of features that help you take on even the toughest terrain. The new trim level this year is the Willys, which comes with sporty features like mud-terrain tires, off-road suspension, and the Trac-Lok rear differential. The Rubicon is the other off-road option in the 2023 lineup, and it takes the Wrangler 4xe's athleticism to the next level with features like 33-inch all-terrain tires, a front disconnecting sway bar, off-road rock rails, and more.
